Job summary

Vaco is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of a growing construction business in Columbus, OH. The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, project accounting, and month-end close activities across multiple projects.

Collaborate with operations teams, supervise job costing, and drive financial performance while ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction accounting.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and perform account reconciliations.
• Oversee construction job costing and project accounting activities.
• Review project budgets, costs, and revenue recognition for accuracy.
• Monitor WIP schedules and support financial forecasting.
• Assist with cash flow management and financial planning.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to accounting policies.
• Support external audits, tax preparation, and regulatory reporting.
• Partner with project managers to provide financial insights and recommendations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and controls.
