Job summary

Jobot seeks a Construction Accounting Manager based in San Francisco to lead accounting operations for complex Bay Area projects. You will oversee GL, AP, AR, payroll support, and month-end close with focus on accurate revenue recognition and internal controls.

Collaborate with project managers and executives to drive financial reporting, WIP analysis, and process improvements in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
• Construction, real estate development, engineering, or project-based accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with job costing, WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion accounting, and project financial analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems commonly used in construction environments.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• CPA or CPA-track candidates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and month-end close
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Review and analyze project financial performance, job costs, budgets, and WIP schedules
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition and construction accounting practices
• Lead account reconciliations and maintain strong internal controls
• Partner with project managers and operational leaders on forecasting and financial performance
• Assist with cash flow management and financial planning
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements
• Mentor and develop accounting staff while helping improve processes and efficiencies
