Job summary

Sloan, a family-owned construction company, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager/Controller to lead its accounting function and ensure the integrity of financial information. The role covers revenue recognition, consolidation, payroll accounting, and budgeting.

You will drive internal controls, coordinate with external auditors, and help with forecasting and strategic financial planning. The position requires CPA and builder-software experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Five (5) Years of accounting experience, preferably with a small construction company.
• QuickBooks Online experience is required.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting concepts, including cost accounting and WIP.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage client communication.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• Experience with builder-specific project management software is such as Ressio, Builder. Trend, and Job Tread.
• Proficiency with iSolved Payroll software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full accounting function and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Manage and oversee the outsourced accounting team for transactional activities.
• Review outsourced accounting work for accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Own and manage month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare, review, and finalize financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies.
