Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Construction Accounting Leader in Florida to oversee all accounting operations for a growing commercial construction firm. You will drive accurate financial reporting, internal controls, and strategic guidance.

The ideal candidate brings extensive construction accounting knowledge, including WIP reporting, job costing, and CPC/AP/AR processes, with ERP systems and leadership experience. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, construction WIP, and financial reporting.
• Proficient in Sage 300 and Timberline.
• Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including month-end and year-end close process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity etc.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end close process.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Coordinate and complete annual audits.
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
• Meet financial accounting objectives.
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
