Job summary

Pierre Landscape Construction is seeking an Accounting Associate to support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Certified Payroll functions. This in‑office role in Los Angeles offers a Monday–Friday schedule and potential for growth within a stable, well‑respected company.

You’ll work with Sage and ExakTime, handle vendor records, processing, and project billing, and collaborate with Project Managers on billing and job costs.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in A/P, A/R, or accounting preferred (we’ll train the right person)
• Construction payroll experience a plus
• Certified payroll and union reporting experience a plus
• Degree in Accounting/Finance a plus

Responsibilities

• Process and verify vendor invoices, payments, reimbursements, and purchase orders accurately.
• Review invoice and PO coding for proper job cost allocation and account coding.
• Maintain vendor records in Sage, including W‑9s and insurance certificates.
• Perform vendor statement reconciliations and research discrepancies.
• Identify vendor discounts; ensure payments align with terms.
• Assist with project billing, customer invoicing, collections, and resolving payment issues.
• Communicate with Project Managers about billing and job costs.
• Run monthly reports including aging and DVBE as assigned.
• Process weekly payroll for field employees and enter new hires in Sage/ExakTime.
• Assist with Certified Payroll submissions and reporting as needed.
• Verify labor ratio compliance and resolve payroll/labor issues.
• Handle month-end close and other accounting projects.
• Maintain organized accounting files and data entry.
