Job summary

Austin Bridge & Road, a division of Austin Industries, is seeking an Accountant II at our Coppell, Texas headquarters. The role focuses on job cost accounting, general ledger, and reporting to support project profitability.

Responsibilities include GL reconciliations, monthly close, project budgeting, job cost tracking, billing, and assisting audits. Strong Excel skills, 3+ years in accounting, and a Bachelor's in accounting or finance are required.

Qualifications

• Construction industry experience preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Able to work well in a team environment.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
• Proven people and organizational development skills; able to work smoothly and effectively with people at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• General ledger accounting including reconciliations.
• Monthly accounting close process, contract profit review and analyses.
• Various reports and analyses (including KPIs and various business metrics).
• Periodic forecast and budgeting processes.
• Job cost responsibilities including project setup, budget upload, maintains on-going contract budget adjustment, change orders etc.
• Monthly job billing, cost review etc.
• Support field operations including field office managers, project managers and regional managers.
• Assist in external and internal audits.
• Completes ad hoc requests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
