Job summary

Ascendo-Resources is seeking a Project Accountant – Construction to support the financial management of multiple projects, ensuring accurate billing, cost tracking, and reporting. You will collaborate with project managers and the accounting team to monitor profitability and compliance across each job.

You will handle job costing, subcontractor payments, retainage, change orders, and month-end close in a fast-paced environment, requiring meticulous attention to detail and effective communication

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project accounting experience within construction.
• Strong knowledge of job costing and construction billing.
• Experience with AIA billing, retainage, change orders, and subcontractor payments.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting or construction management software.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication with project management and accounting teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage project accounting from setup through closeout.
• Prepare and process AIA billings, progress billings, and invoices.
• Track project costs, budgets, commitments, and change orders.
• Review subcontractor invoices and payment applications.
• Monitor job cost reports and identify budget or cost discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate project financial records and documentation.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable for assigned projects.
• Prepare project financial reports, reconciliations, and monthly reporting.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to review financial performance.
• Track retainage, lien releases, and subcontractor documentation.
• Assist with month-end close and general accounting functions.
