Pepper Construction is seeking an Accountant for our Barrington, IL office to join the growing corporate accounting team. This role will handle accounting for multiple operating entities and support financial reporting across projects.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Accounting, CPA or CPA candidate, 2+ years in a related environment, strong Excel and accounting systems experience; Workday Adaptive a plus. The salary midpoint is $82,000 with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• 2+ years in related environment.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Advanced Excel and accounting systems experience; Workday Adaptive a plus.

Responsibilities

• Record fixed asset purchases, disposals and depreciation; annual fixed asset audit.
• Prepare and review journal entries.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts; resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with project managers for cost tracking and reporting.
• Support year-end audit and internal controls improvements.
• Contribute to special projects as needed.
