Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a Constrained Cyber Capability Engineer to advance testing, integration, and deployment of cyber capabilities across constrained environments. You will work with embedded devices, RF systems, and networked hardware to drive mission impact.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; technical training may compensate for a non-tech degree.
3 years of experience in virtualization, networking, wireless systems, software development, or cybersecurity.
Programming skills and Linux familiarity.
Knowledge of modern cybersecurity tools, including network/protocol analysis and firmware analysis.
Strong communication and teamwork, ability to work independently or in teams, willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

Contribute to projects solving testing, integration, and operationalization of cyber capabilities on constrained surfaces.
Develop and deploy software tools for testing in physical and virtual environments.
Support field testing and operation by collaborating with mission partners and stakeholders.
Mentor small technical teams to drive solutions to technical problems.
Produce high-quality technical documents: test plans, reports, and briefings.
