Job summary

Progress Rail, a Caterpillar company, seeks a corporate accounting professional in Albertville, AL to support consolidation and month-end close with strong financial reporting across multiple entities.

The role requires US GAAP knowledge, 2–4 years of accounting experience, and a bachelor's in accounting; a master's degree or CPA is a plus. You will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, assist audits, and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Master's degree and/or CPA a plus.
• Two to four years of accounting/finance experience preferred.
• Understanding of US GAAP.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist in month, quarter and year-end close for consolidated reporting.
• Support software system for consolidated financial reporting.
• Prepare and enter a variety of journal entries.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Assist with audits and quarterly/annual audit schedules.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX controls.
• Assist in other financial areas as necessary.
