Job summary

Progress Rail, A Caterpillar Company, invites applications for an Accounting/Finance Student Intern to learn various facets of accounting and finance within a division of a public company. The intern will gain hands-on experience in journal entries, financial reporting, budgeting, and data analytics while interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

Position located in Albertville, AL, with opportunities to support accounts payable, receivables, and analysis tasks that enhance industry

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and entry of a variety of journal entries (standard entries, accruals, etc.).
• Assist with preparation and analysis of financial statements and supporting reports.
• Perform balance sheet analysis, reconcile various general ledger accounts, and maintain supporting documentation for multiple legal entities.
• Support software system for financial reporting.
• Perform data entry of accounts payable invoices in an accurate and timely manner.
• Communicate with internal and external customers on accounts payable inquiries.
• Perform customer billing activities.
• Complete a variety of financial budgeting and analysis activities.
• Utilize data analytics tools.
• Ensure compliance with department standards.
• Follow established accounting principles and procedures.
