Job summary

Vaco is seeking an Operational & Consolidations Accountant to support financial reporting, month-end close, consolidations, and operating accounting across multiple business units. The role collaborates with accounting and operations teams to ensure accurate data, streamline reporting, and provide insights that drive business performance.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, 3+ years of related experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with ERP systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with consolidations, intercompany accounting, and financial analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial modeling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial consolidations across multiple entities and business units.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Maintain consolidation schedules, intercompany transactions, and eliminations.
• Analyze financial results and investigate variances between actuals, budgets, and forecasts.
• Prepare account reconciliations and ensure balance sheet integrity.
• Support corporate and operational reporting requirements for leadership.
• Partner with business unit leaders to understand operational drivers impacting financial performance.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Coordinate audit requests and support external and internal audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.
• Support ERP system maintenance, reporting enhancements, and data integrity initiatives.
