Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Architecture, Business, Environmental Studies, Natural Science, Planning, and Resource Management or in a related field, plus four (4) years of related experience.
  • Masters degree may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience.
  • Experience may substitute for education up to a maximum of four (4) years.

Licenses or Certifications:

  • Valid Driver's License.

This position assists in the coordination of incentive and rebate programs, including database updates; responds to customer and contractor inquiries; application verification; customer service; and general support of Austin Energy residential, multifamily, and commercial energy efficiency programs.

Additional Information

Driving Requirement

This position requires a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one by hire date. External hires must meet the City of Austin’s Driver Record Evaluation requirements, with no more than three moving violations or six evaluation points in 36 months.

Pay Range: $27.41 – $33.30

Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities

Essential duties may include:

  • Implementing conservation programs in various settings.
  • Analyzing energy/water usage data and recommending conservation measures.
  • Inspecting buildings and systems for efficiency and recommending improvements.
  • Preparing audit reports and job specifications.
  • Educating customers and contractors on energy efficiency.
  • Performing field audits and inspections for rebate eligibility.
  • Coordinating with contractors and ensuring program compliance.
  • Promoting conservation programs through outreach and community events.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must demonstrate knowledge of energy/water technologies, codes, safety, and department initiatives. Skills in communication, multitasking, software use, data analysis, negotiation, and team leadership are required. Ability to establish good working relationships is essential.
