Job summary

The City of Goldsboro seeks a Conservation Inspector to inspect landscaping and irrigation systems for compliance with water conservation rules and the Unified Development Code. You will review plans, interpret codes, and prepare detailed inspection reports while coordinating with multiple city and county departments.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in building trades, plan review, and leadership.

Qualifications

• Associate degree plus 4 years of related experience, or Bachelor's plus 2 years.
• Pre-employment drug screening, background and driving record checks required.
• Licenses: Valid Texas Class C driver’s license; ICC certifications for inspection roles.

Responsibilities

• Inspect landscaping and irrigation installations for compliance with water conservation ordinances and UDC requirements.
• Provide code interpretations and enforcement for water conservation and UDC.
• Complete inspections and prepare reports.
• Review development plans for code compliance.
• Coordinate with applicants and City/County departments for reviews.
• Attend pre-application and pre-construction meetings as needed.
• Represent the Development Services Department with various agencies.
