Job summary

City of Georgetown, TX is seeking a Conservation Inspector to analyze landscape and irrigation work for compliance with water conservation regulations and the Unified Development Code. Under supervision, you will manage case files, review plans, and perform inspections related to conservation landscaping and soil ordinances.

The role requires knowledge of building codes, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate with multiple city departments.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in construction-related field with four years of related experience, or a bachelor’s degree with two years.
Knowledge of building, housing and safety codes; code enforcement and inspections experience.
Strong supervisory, communication, and leadership skills; proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

Inspect residential and commercial landscapes and irrigation systems for compliance with water conservation ordinances and UDC.
Prepare inspection reports and maintain records for permitting and compliance.
Coordinate reviews with Planning and other City departments; respond to inquiries and variances.
Mentor staff and participate in training as directed.
