American Prairie Foundation in Lewistown, MT is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee the condition, safety, and reliability of access points, public use areas, and infrastructure across our ranch properties. This hands-on leadership role directs maintenance, supervises seasonal staff, manages housing assignments, and supports annual budget planning with the Regional Facilities Maintenance Director.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of facilities or property management experience, strong trades

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of facilities, maintenance, property management, or construction experience.
• Hands-on skills across two or more trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC).
• Experience directing the work of others, including seasonal staff.
• Experience with rural infrastructure: wells, septic, propane, generators.
• Comfort with maintenance tracking, purchase records, and basic budget spreadsheets/tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facilities maintenance of access points and infrastructure.
• Supervise seasonal staff and housing turnover; provide coaching and safety training.
• Coordinate housing policies and occupancy enforcement; manage housing records.
• Assist on facilities and capital projects; gather bids and vendor docs.
• Document facilities damage and pursue insurance claims; liaise with Operations.
• Maintain budgets and purchasing within delegated authority; support annual planning.
• Travel 20–40% of time to remote sites as required.
