Job summary

American Prairie is seeking a Facilities Manager in Lewistown to oversee the condition, safety, and reliability of access points, public use areas, facilities, and landscape across the ranch. This hands-on leadership role directs maintenance, supervises seasonal staff, and supports housing management while coordinating projects and annual budgets.

You will report to the Regional Facilities Maintenance Director and work in a full-time capacity with comprehensive benefits, including health

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of facilities, maintenance, property management, or construction experience.
• Experience directing the work of seasonal or temporary staff.
• Hands-on skill across two or more trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.).
• Comfort with rural infrastructure including wells, septic, propane, generators.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied conditions and travel 20–40% of time.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies; ensure materials for planned projects.
• Document maintenance activities, project progress, and report hazards or issues.
• Lead day-to-day work of seasonal staff and conduct safety training.
• Coordinate budget coding and participate in annual facilities and housing budgets.
• Manage housing assignments, inspections, and occupancy records across properties.
• Assist with facilities and capital projects, gather bids, and coordinate on-site work.
