Job summary

American Prairie Foundation is seeking a Fleet Manager in Lewistown, MT. The role balances fleet operations (70%) with infrastructure maintenance (30%).

You will oversee the full lifecycle of vehicles, ensure safety compliance, manage records, and assist with repairs and infrastructure projects to support asset upkeep and restoration. You will lead fleet administration, coordinate with vendors, maintain registrations, and develop SOPs with the Safety Manager while educating staff on safety

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in fleet management, logistics, mechanics, or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee daily fleet operations, including scheduling, utilization, and maintenance coordination.
• Experience supervising staff, contractors, or vendors, including assigning work and providing feedback.
• Working knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance practices, including gas and diesel assets.
• Familiarity with safety standards, inspections, and regulatory compliance related to fleet operations.

Responsibilities

• 70% Fleet Operations and Administration: manage fleet system, coordinate vehicle use, monitor maintenance schedules, and maintain records.
• Coordinate with vendors for timely repairs and servicing while prioritizing fleet needs and ensuring compliance.
• Manage registrations, insurance records, and budget related to fleet maintenance.
• Develop and update SOPs for vehicle use, maintenance, and safety with Safety Manager and stakeholders.
• Educate team on vehicle policies and safety standards, promoting safe operations.
• 30% Infrastructure Projects and Maintenance: perform basic maintenance and asset projects, oversee daily operations with seasonal technicians.
