Job summary

AMETEK, a global leader in industrial technology, seeks a Conformal Coating Operator for our manufacturing facility to apply coatings to PCB assemblies per procedures and customer specs. You will ensure coverage, thickness, and appearance meet acceptance criteria and maintain documentation per GMP standards.

You will complete required training, maintain certification, and work in a safety-conscious environment with ESD controls and process discipline.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English and follow detailed instructions.
• Ability to use AI tools to improve productivity and reduce costs.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Basic computer and data-entry skills with accurate records.
• Ability to complete conformal coating training and certification.
• Ability to visually identify coating coverage and defects.

Responsibilities

• Apply conformal coatings to PCBs, assemblies, and products per work instructions and drawings.
• Perform masking and demasking to protect areas from coating.
• Prepare approved coating materials, tools, fixtures, and equipment.
• Operate conformal coating equipment, spray systems, curing ovens, and ventilation.
• Apply acrylic, polyurethane, or other approved coatings manually or automatically.
• Verify coating coverage and thickness using inspection methods and criteria.
• Perform touch-up, rework, and repairs as documented.
• Follow curing profiles, drying times, and material controls.
• Read routers and engineering docs and interpret quality requirements.
• Identify nonconforming conditions and report to supervision/Engineering/Quality.
• Maintain production records and process documentation per Good Documentation Practices.
• Enter production data, inspection results, and parameters in systems.
• Handle assemblies with ESD, contamination-control, and handling requirements.
• Maintain coating training and certification.
• Support safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives.
