Job summary

Holland & Knight seeks a Conflicts Attorney to join the conflicts clearing team in Denver or within commuting distance of any US office. The role supports new business intake, conducts conflicts checks, and drafts waivers and engagement letters to protect clients and the firm.

The ideal candidate has a JD, a US bar admission, 5+ years of large-firm experience in conflicts of interest or professional responsibility, and strong analytical, communication, and research skills.

Qualifications

• JD required and US bar admission
• Minimum 5+ years in conflicts of interest or professional responsibility
• Experience with conflicts checks and risk assessment
• Strong research and analytical abilities

Responsibilities

• Process intake of prospective clients and matters for firm attorneys.
• Perform conflicts checks, review conflict reports, and identify potential conflicts.
• Communicate with attorneys to resolve conflicts.
• Obtain due diligence for processing new clients and matters.
• Draft and analyze engagement or scope letters and waivers.
• Ensure new clients and matters are processed correctly.
• Consult with Finance or Legal teams on new business requests.
• Answer questions related to conflicts of interest and firm policies.
• Maintain ethical walls and other legal screens as required.
• Monitor ethics rules, opinions, and case law related to conflicts of interest.
• Monitor client mergers and identify conflicts of interest.
• Assist with keeping shared documents current.
• Perform special projects as assigned.
