Job summary

Holland & Knight LLP seeks a Conflicts Attorney to support the conflicts clearing team. Under oversight from the Professional Standards Partner, you will help manage the conflict resolution process for new business intake, protecting the firm and its clients from risk. Some in-person attendance at quarterly meetings may be required.

The role can be based within reasonable commuting distance of any U.S. office, including Portland or Seattle.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and U.S. bar admission.
  • 5+ years legal experience, preferably with a large law firm in conflicts of interest or professional responsibility.
  • Experience with conflicts of interest management and professional standards.

Responsibilities

  • Process intake of prospective new clients and matters for firm attorneys.
  • Perform conflicts checks, review conflict reports, and identify potential conflicts of interest.
  • Communicate with affected attorneys to resolve conflicts.
  • Obtain accurate due diligence for new clients and matters.
  • Draft and analyze engagement or scope letters; draft waiver letters to clear conflicts.
