Job Description: The Conflicts Attorney is responsible for identifying and resolving potential legal and business conflicts. This position ensures adherence to firm policies and procedures in client intake, staff and attorney new hires, and firm growth opportunities. The role reports to the Associate General Counsel - New Business, Conflicts and Ethics.

Location: Albany, NY; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Los Angeles, CA; Providence, RI; Rochester, NY; Washington, DC

Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of ethical, legal, and risk management practices.
2. Analyze and assess due diligence to identify, report, and resolve conflicts of interest and client worthiness issues related to new firm business and personnel.
3. Engage with attorneys and staff to resolve conflicts of interest and business issues.
4. Draft and review conflict waivers, engagement letters, and related documents to ensure compliance.
5. Review outside counsel agreements and RFPs to identify conflicts and ensure compliance.
6. Establish and implement ethical walls.
7. Maintain accurate records of conflict clearance processes.
8. Assist personnel in understanding conflicts and new business policies.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 4 years of legal experience, preferably in a law firm.
• Active membership in a state bar.
• Juris Doctor Degree.
• Knowledge of law firm conflict clearance procedures.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
