Job Description

NBI CONFLICTS ANALYST - National Law Firm

Top-ranking national law firm seeks a Conflicts Analyst to join the firm's growing team. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely analysis of conflict searches, reports, and ethical screening. The Conflicts Analyst will also manage the lateral hire vetting process and all new business intake matters. This position reports directly to the Risk Manager and collaborates with General Counsel and other department heads. The firm values adaptable candidates willing to align their experience with its processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Perform and analyze conflict searches for new engagements, producing concise conflict reports.
  2. Review conflict reports to identify conflicts requiring further attorney review.
  3. Assist attorneys in interpreting reports and resolving conflicts.
  4. Research client entities using firm resources to identify additional conflicts.
  5. Guide internal clients on policies and procedures for new business intake.
  6. Ensure compliance of new engagements with firm policies.
  7. Assist the General Counsel with conflicts and new business intake issues.
  8. Manage daily inquiries regarding new business intake and conflicts professionally and promptly.
  9. Review engagement and retainer letters for compliance with standards.
  10. Perform conflict searches for lateral candidates and follow up accordingly.
  11. Maintain and update client and matter database information.
  12. Participate in monthly team meetings and collaborate on relevant issues.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
  • At least 3 years of relevant law firm experience.
  • Ability to work remotely with strong follow-up skills.
  • Research, decision-making, proofreading, and technical skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and independent judgment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Dependable, flexible, and capable of overtime if needed.
