Job Description

NBI CONFLICTS ANALYST - National Law Firm

Top-ranking national law firm seeks a Conflicts Analyst to join the firm's growing team. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely analysis of conflict searches, reports, and analysis, while ethically screening. The Conflicts Analyst will also manage the lateral hire vetting process and all new business intake matters. This position reports directly to the Risk Manager but collaborates regularly with the General Counsel and other department heads. The firm has developed a thorough process and provides thoughtful training. Candidates willing to adapt their experience to the firm’s processes are especially encouraged to apply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform and analyze conflict searches for new engagements and identify potential conflicts of interest with concise conflict reports.
  • Review conflict reports and identify conflicts requiring further review by attorneys.
  • Assist attorneys with interpreting reports and resolving conflicts.
  • Research client entities using firm resources to identify additional conflicts of interest.
  • Provide guidance to internal clients regarding policies and procedures of new business intake.
  • Ensure new engagements comply with firm policies and procedures.
  • Assist the General Counsel with conflicts and new business intake issues.
  • Manage inquiries regarding new business intake and conflicts of interest promptly and professionally.
  • Review engagement and retainer letters for compliance with firm standards.
  • Perform conflict searches for lateral candidates and follow up on conflict clearance.
  • Maintain and update client and matter database information.
  • Participate in monthly team meetings and collaborate with team members.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
  • At least 3 years of related experience in a law firm.
  • Ability to work remotely while managing responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong research, decision-making, proofreading, and technical skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and independent judgment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Flexible, dependable, and willing to work some overtime.
