About the Opportunity
The Conflicts Analyst is responsible for identifying, researching, and conducting preliminary analysis of potential conflicts of interest associated with new clients and matters. Working closely with Intake Attorneys and firm lawyers, this position supports legal compliance, risk management, and new business intake.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of professional experience, including at least 1 year of law firm conflicts experience
- Knowledge of the Rules of Professional Conduct and conflict of interest requirements, or the ability to learn and apply them quickly
- Proficiency with Intapp Open, Elite 3E, and iManage
- Experience using corporate research databases, such as Capital IQ and LexisNexis
- Strong legal research and analysis skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to independently manage priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced legal environment
- Strong judgment, integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong customer-service mindset
- Proactive, self-motivated approach with a commitment to high-quality work
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with the ability to quickly learn new technology and software
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
Key Job Functions
- Conduct conflict of interest searches and analysis in accordance with the Rules of Professional Conduct, applicable state ethics rules, engagement terms, and client guidelines
- Communicate conflict findings, recommendations, and required next steps to Intake Attorneys and firm lawyers
- Generate and process Intapp Open requests for new business and prepare conflict reports
- Conduct corporate research to identify affiliations, subsidiaries, ownership structures, and other relevant relationships
- Communicate with attorneys and administrative professionals to gather information needed for accurate conflict searches
- Maintain detailed documentation of conflict resolution efforts, research, and outcomes
- Review new business submissions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal procedures
- Maintain accurate party information, matter descriptions, and related records within internal databases
- Prioritize incoming requests and collaborate with team members to manage workflow and meet deadlines
- Support the development and refinement of conflicts procedures, policies, and workflows
- Advise firm personnel on established conflicts and engagement policies and procedures
- Provide training and mentorship to junior team members as needed
- Participate in an off-hours coverage rotation, including occasional weekends and holidays
- Assist with special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
