Our Client is looking for an experienced Conflicts Analyst to join their expanding team. This role will support the Conflicts Manager by handling escalated matters, fostering collaboration within the department, and assisting colleagues as needed to maintain a strong, cohesive work environment.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The preferred candidate will hold a J.D. and have at least three years of experience working in a mid- to large-sized law firm. Advanced proficiency in Intapp software is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of new business intake reports, conflict checks for lateral hires, RFPs, and other related materials
- Serve as a point of contact for attorneys, Accounting, and other departments, ensuring timely and accurate responses to conflicts-related inquiries
- Collaborate with attorneys to negotiate terms when necessary and maintain detailed records for tracking purposes
- Assist with the implementation and oversight of ethical walls, ensuring all necessary documentation is properly maintained
- Oversee the conflicts review process for lateral candidates
- Manage engagement letters and conflicts waiver processes
- Conduct thorough conflicts reviews from initial research to final analysis
- Independently perform conflicts searches, seeking guidance only for highly complex matters requiring escalation
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members while supporting the Conflicts Manager on special projects
- Take on additional tasks and projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a law firm setting
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) required, or a combination of education, training, and experience that equips the candidate for the role
- Background in drafting waivers, reviewing engagement letters, and, ideally, experience with ethical screen implementation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Proven ability to work independently while also collaborating with colleagues to achieve goals
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with attorneys and firm personnel at all levels
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience with conflicts management software, with preference given to those familiar with Intapp and Aderant
