Job summary

Level 10, LLC is seeking a hands-on technician to inspect, assemble, and repair a range of equipment including computers, printers, POS devices, and handheld scanners at our Hoffman Estates facility. You will read SOPs, schematics, and instructions, and participate in diagnostic testing and process improvements.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience, ability to lift up to 70 lbs, and availability for occasional evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate’s Degree is preferred.
• 1–3 years’ experience in a related field.
• Experience with POS equipment is preferred.
• Experience with installing/configuring computer software, printers, and/or scanners.
• Ability to repair laser barcode equipment (Symbol, Intermec, Honeywell).
• Excellent organization and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Quality check product during setup and disassembly.
• Repair various equipment including computers, printers, POS systems, and handheld scanners.
• Read and understand technical documentation (SOPs, drawings, schematics).
• Evaluate repair processes and recommend productivity/quality improvements.
• Perform test programs and benchmarks for battery and power measurements.
• Complete and maintain checklists for staging and integration tasks.
• Communicate with internal customers to resolve issues.

Job description

• Quality check product that is being setup and disassembled
• Perform repairs on various types of equipment including computers, printers, POS (Point of Sale) equipment, and hand-held mobile scanners
• Ability to read and comprehend technical documentation (Standard Operating Procedures, Technical Drawings, and Schematics)
• Evaluate and monitor repair processes and techniques and make recommendations for process and equipment changes that lead to gains in productivity and the quality of repairs
• Basic soldering a plus
• Independently diagnose, define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, facilitate solutions, and resolve complicated repairs
• Perform test programs and run benchmarks for battery and power measurements
• Read and follow directions in technical documentation, provided by both internal and external customers
• Complete and maintain checklists for staging and integration tasks
• Communicate and follow-through with internal customers to resolve any issues

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s Degree preferred
• 1-3 years’ experience in related field
