Job summary

ADP, Inc. is seeking a skilled Repair Technician to repair, test, and troubleshoot electronic and electro-mechanical equipment in a fast-paced environment. You will use oscilloscopes and diagnostic tools to ensure product quality, maintain documentation, and collaborate with peers to improve processes.

The role requires an Associate’s Degree or equivalent and 4+ years of repair experience, with occasional travel. Ability to work autonomously and in a team is essential.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering or related field.
  • 4+ years of equipment repair experience.
  • Occasional travel locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management, and planning skills.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills, including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning.
  • Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships across the organization and with clients.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs equipment including controllers, power supplies, print heads and ink systems; inspects and tests products to maintain quality.
  • Adjusts and tunes products to provide optimum service and reliability per procedures.
  • Suggests approaches to improve products, procedures or testing methods.
  • Operates diagnostic equipment including oscilloscopes, pulsed generators, strobe lights, microscopes.
  • Monitors and reports on inventory; keeps work area clean and meets close tolerances.
  • Ensures repair reports are completed for every work order and properly filed.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

Job description

The Repair Technician repairs, tests, trouble shoots, and inspects electronic and electro-mechanical equipment, devices and other related equipment in accordance with proper company policies and procedures.

  • Repairs equipment including controllers, power supplies, print heads and ink systems; inspects and tests all products to maintaining a consistently high level of quality.
  • Adjusts and tunes products to provide optimum service and reliability according to established procedures and methods.
  • Suggests approaches to improve products, procedural changes, and/or new methods of control and/or testing.
  • Operates diagnostic equipment including oscilloscopes, pulsed generators, strobe lights, microscopes and other equipment.
  • Monitors and reports on inventory of working stock and related items necessary to maintain acceptable work flow. Maintains equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner; works within extremely close tolerances and part specifications.
  • Ensures that repair report is completed for every work order, maintains proper filing of reports at all times.
  • Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Engineering or related field
  • 4+ years of previous equipment repair experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
  • Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
  • Possess a mechanical aptitude; ability to use a large variety of hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torch.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
PHYSICAL ASPECTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment may be high.
