Job summary

Gigawatt is building the modern system of record for electric utilities, focusing on accurate tariff and contract configuration with AI-assisted workflows. Job Summary

Gigawatt is building the modern system of record for electric utilities — billing, revenue, customer, and operations — on an AI-forward platform. Configuration Analysts work with the utility’s core team to analyze its business rules and turn them into a live, validated product — taking real tariffs, rate schedules, special contracts, and riders, decomposing them, and configuring them in the Gigawatt platform so the customer’s bills come out right, to the penny.

You own each unit from requirements through validated sign-off, using an AI-accelerated workflow (our configuration “flywheel”) rather than doing it by hand. This is a hands-on configuration role with real analytical depth — it is not a software-engineering role, and not a pure business-analysis role; you understand the requirements and build them into the system.

You’ll configure the system of record for a major utility from the ground up, with AI doing the heavy lifting so you focus on judgment — not a back-office admin seat maintaining someone else’s setup. It’s a lean, senior, AI-accelerated team building a function that will scale across the utility industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Run the end-to-end configuration loop for each unit (party, premise, account, tariff, special contract, rider, etc.): intake and source collection → decompose and analyze → author the per-object configuration guide → configure in the platform in dependency order → hand to QA for parallel-bill validation → sign-off and promote.
• Decompose complex business rules, tariffs (aka rate schedules), and special contracts into the platform’s configuration model using our authoring guides and reusable component library — referencing shared components rather than re-inventing them.
• Drive the AI-assisted configuration flywheel : prep source documents for the LLM parse, review AI-generated price tables, seasonal schedules, and charge formulas, apply human-in-the-loop judgment where confidence is low, and feed corrections back to improve the tooling.
• Partner with the module Solution Architect on model-fit and data-model questions, and with the client’s rate/billing SMEs to confirm source-of-truth and unique requirements.
• Own configuration quality : your tariff and rate configuration passes parallel-bill-to-the-penny validation against 12–13 months of billed history from a legacy CIS.
• Keep the configuration guide, workbook, and component library in sync, and document hand-offs.

Qualifications & Experience

• Configuration / rules-engine experience : you’ve configured an enterprise platform declaratively (utility CIS/billing such as Oracle CC&B or SAP IS-U); minimum of 5 years
• Domain fluency : utility rate/tariff/billing structures, or transferable rate/pricing/benefits-rules experience is a must
• Analytical + technical comfort : you read a tariff filing or contract and see the underlying data model; comfortable with structured data, spreadsheets, light SQL, and working alongside AI tooling.

• Exposure to AI-accelerated / human-in-the-loop configuration workflows.
• The instinct to build reusable components instead of one-offs.

What success looks like (first 90 days)

• Ramped on the platform’s configuration model and authoring guides.
• Independently configuring tariffs and special contracts that pass parallel-bill validation.
• Contributing reusable components back to the shared library and helping tune the AI flywheel.

Location

• US-based; open to remote, with periodic (2-3 days every 2-3 months) on-site travel to customer sites as the program requires.
