Job summary

The Coeur d'Alene Resort is seeking a Convention Center Server to support banquet and outdoor functions, delivering prompt, courteous service while collaborating with kitchen and event staff.

You will prepare dining rooms, serve guests, and assist with setup and breakdown. The role emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction, with gratuity shared among banquet servers. Full-time and part-time opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant server or banquet server experience preferred.
• Excellent oral communication and listening skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Open availability and punctuality.
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., sometimes up to 70 lbs.
• Flexible, able to work long shifts walking/bending/climbing stairs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up dining room for events and arrange tables with decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, and utensils.
• Carry plates on trays and serve guests.
• Arrange food on serving trays in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
• Keep glasses filled and replenish utensils as rounds are cleared.
• Assist with cleaning tasks and breakdown after service.
• Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness.
• Coordinate with team and supervisors to ensure efficient service and guest satisfaction.

Job description

The Convention Center Server performs all tasks associated with setting up, serving, and breaking down of function rooms where banquet food service activities are performed.

Responsible for the prompt, courteous, smooth and efficient service of food and beverage to guests during banquet and outdoor functions. Additionally work as a team to follow through with the proper and timely set-up and execution of banquet events. Compensation includes gratuity split amongst banquet servers.

Essential Functions

• Prepares room for dining by setting & clothing tables. Placing decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.
• Carrying plates of food on trays and serving guests.
• Arrange food on serving trays in an aesthetic manner
• Keep glasses filled, remove each round of plates and replenish utensils.
• Perform cleaning tasks and breakdown of service.
• Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness.
• Work as a member of a team, communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient work ethic and overall guest satisfaction

Job Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Previous restaurant server or banquet server experience preferred.

• Frequently walking (up to 8 hours or more) with some standing at times, possibly extended distances; ability to bend and climb stairs when necessary.

• Ability to reach with hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly
