Job summary

The City of Baltimore – Department of Transportation seeks a Public Works Inspector II (Conduit) to perform on-site inspections of conduit and related public works projects. You will verify compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards, documenting findings in inspection logs and reports.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and four years of construction inspection experience in highways, bridges, or water/sewer facilities, plus a valid MD noncommercial license.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
• Experience: Four years of construction inspection in highways, streets, bridges, or water/sewer facilities.
• Equivalency: Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Licenses: Valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license or equivalent; Baltimore City driver’s permit.
• Must upload a copy of valid driver’s license with application.

Responsibilities

• Inspect contractors on highways, streets, bridges and water/sewer systems to ensure compliance.
• Verify conformance with specifications, codes and standards.
• Maintain inspection logs and complete routine forms/reports.
• Work outdoors in varying weather and traffic conditions.
