Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking a Public Works Inspector II to ensure contractors follow specifications, standards and codes for highway, street, bridge, water and wastewater projects through on-site inspections.

This role involves outdoor work, potential evenings and weekends, and limited supervision. Candidates must meet education/experience requirements and upload a valid driver’s license. A full benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Four years of construction inspection experience in highways, streets, bridges, or water/sewer facilities.
• Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license or equivalent.
• Must upload a valid driver’s license with the application.
• Background check and six-month probation mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Inspect on-site to ensure compliance with specifications, standards and codes.
• Perform inspections of highways, streets, bridges, and water/wastewater facilities.
• Work under moderate supervision; some evenings and weekends may be required.
• Maintain daily inspection logs and complete routine forms/reports.
