Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Justice, Transportation Division, seeks a Paralegal I to coordinate highway condemnation actions across NC counties. You will gather legal information, assist attorneys, and coordinate with DOT and court personnel to ensure proper filings.

Under supervision, you will use Odyssey and support the filing team to advance condemnation cases needed for DOT construction schedules.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have formal paralegal training or a relevant bachelor's degree with experience.
• Experience in researching and compiling legal information is required.
• Familiarity with statewide electronic filing and case management systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prepare highway condemnation actions in NC superior courts.
• File actions timely to support DOT construction projects.
• Collaborate with DOT Right of Way and other agencies to gather information.
• Use Odyssey for statewide filing and case management under supervision.
