Job summary

SHADE Industries is seeking a Concrete and Structural Steel Assembly Lead to direct site preparation, caisson drilling, and footing installations for high-end shade structures in the Phoenix area.

You will oversee excavation machinery, steel reinforcement, concrete pours, and anchor bolt placements that form the foundation for tensioned fabric structures. Strong background in concrete site work, machinery operation, and crew leadership is required for year-round stability and a four-day workweek.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in concrete flatwork, structural footings, heavy excavation, or civil site preparation.
• Demonstrated capability operating skid steers, mini-excavators, augers, and towable equipment trailers.
• Proven track record directing small field crews, managing jobsite safety, and maintaining daily production logs.
• Valid driver license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel for short-term regional assignments (1 to 4 days).
• OSHA 10/30, CPR/First Aid, or trenching and excavation safety credentials are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily field activities for site crews of 1 to 4 employees, ensuring accurate layout and execution of deep concrete footings and piers.
• Safely operate light and medium-duty excavation machinery, skid steers, augers, and equipment trailers for structural site preparation.
• Set up forms, stack rebar cages, manage site-mixed or transit-mixed concrete pours, and place precision anchor bolt templates according to plans and specs.
• Read structural drawings, elevations, and soil plans to ensure proper footing depths and placement.
• Coordinate with project managers, site superintendents, and inspectors to ensure readiness and timely inspections.
• Enforce jobsite safety standards, heat safety protocols, and OSHA compliance across all activities.
