Job summary

Duit Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a Concrete Saw Operator to run a walk-behind saw on highway pavement projects. You will cut accurately and safely under the Saw Foreman, and assist in blade changes and basic machinery repairs.

This role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, travel as needed, and a clean driving record. Preferred candidates have 3+ years of saw operation and 1+ year highway construction experience.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with clean MVR.
• Knowledge of saw equipment, blades, and safety.
• Ability to gain clearance in restricted/high-security zones such as Airports and Military Bases.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime as requested.

Responsibilities

• Operate the walk-behind concrete saw under the direction of the Saw Foreman.
• Bring the saw blade up to speed and keep it straight.
• Complete tasks promptly and conduct post-cut inspections.

Job description

A Concrete Saw Operator is responsible for operating a walk-behind concrete saw to make clean and accurate cuts on highway pavement as directed safely and efficiently. Will require the ability to repair or assist in changing blades or repair machinery using hand tools and power tools. The ideal candidate will also have experience and knowledge of proper concrete finishing and sealing techniques

Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of the Saw Foreman, operate the walk-behind saw efficiently.
• Must be able to bring the saw blade up to speed while keeping it straight.
• Must be able to complete tasks promptly.
• Must be able to conduct post-cut inspections.
• Work harmoniously, cooperatively, and courteously with others at all times.
• Follow directions and instructions from supervisors.
• Work in a variety of weather conditions, including temperatures over 85 degrees and below 40 degrees.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and clean MVR
• Knowledge of saw equipment, blades, and safety
• Ability to gain clearance in restricted/high-security zones such as Airports and Military Bases
• Ability to use arms and hand to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
• Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
• Ability to perform frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted.
• Must be able to see and hear well (naturally or with correction.)
• Ability to travel and work overtime, as requested.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of concrete saw operator experience
• 1+ year of heavy/highway construction experience
