Job summary

CTL Engineering, a multi-location consulting firm, seeks a Concrete Laboratory Technician for materials testing in Cleveland, OH. The role involves performing tests on concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and other construction materials to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specs.

The technician will prepare samples, operate testing equipment, record data, maintain lab organization, and adhere to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or technical coursework in Engineering, Geology, Construction Science, or related field preferred.
• Experience with construction materials testing, geotechnical lab work, or related field.
• Experience with field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregates, masonry.
• Must have valid driver license and ability to travel to regional sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory testing on construction materials following applicable standards.
• Assist with sample preparation, handling, and storage.
• Ensure testing requirements meet project specifications and company policies.
• Document and report test results with organized records.
• Operate laboratory testing equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE.
• Communicate results and status with Lab Supervisors, Engineers, and field personnel.
• Support laboratory team, Field Technicians, and project managers as needed.
