Job summary

The City of Georgetown, TX is seeking a Light Equipment Operator with a concrete specialization to support street, drainage, and right-of-way projects. You will operate and maintain concrete-related equipment, participate in formwork, pouring, and finishing, and help set up traffic control.

You must have at least 6 months of related experience and demonstrate safety-conscious operation of equipment. A Texas driver’s license and the ability to obtain required endorsements are required.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of full-time work experience performing work consistent with the essential and specialized functions for this classification.
• Knowledge of municipal infrastructure maintenance and safety practices.
• Ability to operate light and heavy machinery and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform maintenance on light and heavy equipment used in street, drainage, and right-of-way projects.
• Participate in construction and repair of City infrastructure and perform concrete-related tasks.
• Set up traffic control and assist other departments as needed.
• Prepare tools, materials, and equipment for assignments and ensure safety inspections.
• Lead a small team when assigned or act as lead for assigned staff.
