Job summary

City of Georgetown, TX seeks a Light Equipment Operator specializing in stormwater to perform maintenance and construction on streets, storm drains and related infrastructure. The role includes operating various trucks and machinery, and participating in traffic control and emergency duties.

Minimum qualifications include 6 months of related experience and a valid Texas driver’s license with potential to obtain a Class A CDL and Tanker Endorsement within months of hire.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of full-time work experience performing duties consistent with this classification.
• Must have a valid Texas driver’s license.
• Must obtain a Class A CDL (including air brakes) and Tanker Endorsement within nine months of hire.
• Must obtain or be able to obtain the Texas Class A Commercial Driver’s License (including air brakes) and Tanker Endorsement within nine months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a variety of light and heavy equipment.
• Perform maintenance, repair, and construction of City infrastructure.
• Assist in street, stormwater, and right-of-way projects.
• Set up and monitor traffic control as needed.
• Lead assigned staff and coordinate with other departments as required.
• Participate in emergency duties and on-call rotations.
