Overview

About Your Opportunity Assist Concrete Carpenters / Concrete Finishers with various job tasks related to building concrete frame, floor and wall construction and site curb and sidewalk construction. Produce all work in a safe manner and work in a team-oriented environment.

How You’ll Contribute

• Strip and clean concrete formwork
• Spread concrete during placement using rakes and shovels
• Transport concrete using physical means and equipment
• Removal of concrete utilizing saws and jackhammers
• Clean up concrete spoils and concrete equipment
• Assist in setting concrete formwork
• Rake and shovel stone/concrete
• Assist in installing various concrete accessories
• Collaborate with team members
• Work in a safe and organized manner

Other Functions

• Perform job clean up duties
• Provide clear direction and communication to concrete trucks arriving and leaving job site

Qualifications

• 1 year of construction experience
• Knowledge of basic concrete tools and equipment
• Employee is expected to supply on his/her own and possess at work certain tools, a list of which will be provided by LV Concrete
• Valid driver licenses

Machines/Tools/Equipment

Carry out tasks utilizing hand tools including shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, drills, floats, trowels, brooms, etc. Carry out tasks utilizing power equipment including jack hammers, skid loaders, chipping guns, motorized wheelbarrows, concrete pumps, etc.

Working Conditions

Work is primarily outdoors with occasional indoor construction. Work shifts may involve long hours and night shifts. Some work may include elevated workstations several stories above ground or work several stories below ground. Minimal out of town work may be required.

Physical Requirements

In a normal day, this position requires little to no sitting. The employee must be able to stand for 7+ hours. Must be able to walk 4-6 hours and drive 1-4 hours. Employee must be able to lift/carry up to 75 lbs. maximum; frequently lift/carry up to 50 lbs. Must be able to use upper extremities for repetitive grasping, pushing/pulling and fine manipulation. Must be able to bend at waist and squat the knees 67-100% of the time. Will frequently climb (including ladders), reach above shoulders and kneel. Will occasionally crawl, use feet, and/or work at heights above 6 feet.
