Job summary

Coast Pavement Services in Oregon is looking for a general helper to assist skilled craft workers with concrete-related tasks on construction sites. The role involves supporting equipment operation, material handling, and surface finishing under supervision.

Responsibilities include pouring and vibrating concrete, loading materials, erecting temporary structures, and maintaining tools and work areas in a loud outdoor environment.

Responsibilities

• Tend pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power to the jobsite.
• Load and unload trucks and haul materials.
• Erect temporary structures.
• Place and vibrate freshly poured concrete.
• Mix ingredients to create compounds used to cover or clean surfaces.
• Perform dexterous tasks with hands and tools (sawing, scaffolding, shoring).
• Strip, remove and clean concrete formwork.
• Lift, carry and hold building materials and supplies.
• Level earth and measure from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretch line.
• Grind, sand and polish concrete surfaces.
• Operate hand and power tools.
• Clean tools, equipment, materials and work area.
• Assist in other operations as designated by supervisor.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities Listed Below

• Tend pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power to the jobsite.
• Load and unload trucks and haul materials.
• Erect temporary structures.
• Places and vibrates freshly poured concrete.
• Mix ingredients to create compounds used to cover or clean surfaces.
• Performs a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools such as sawing, erecting and dismantling scaffolding, shoring and braces, etc.
• Stripping, removal and cleaning of concrete formwork.
• Lifts, carries and holds building materials and supplies.
• Levels earth to fine grade using pick and shovel and measures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes and stretches tight line.
• Grinds, sands and polishes concrete surfaces.
• Operate hand and power tools.
• Cleans tools, equipment, materials and work area.
• When not performing the above essential duties and responsibilities, may assist in other operations as designated by the supervisor

Specific Equipment and Materials to be used: Operate power vibrator to compact concrete, saws, power grinder, jack hammer and hand tools.
