About Your Opportunity
A concrete carpenter, also known as a form carpenter, plays a crucial role in shaping concrete structures by building and manipulating the forms that hold the concrete until it sets. Here is a summary of typical daily duties.
How You’ll Contribute
- Build and dismantle structural form work.
- Assist finishers and laborers pouring concrete.
- Install various concrete accessories.
- Place and fasten concrete reinforcing using tie wire.
- Install and remove anchor bolts and anchor bolt templates.
- Assist finishers with the concrete finishing process.
- Ensure all tools are cleaned up at the end of the day.
- Collaborate with team members.
- Work in a safe and organized manner.
Skills
- Carpenter skills: proficiency in using hand and power tools such as saws, hammers, drills, and levels.
- Concrete knowledge: understanding concrete properties, setting times, and proper handling procedures.
- Blueprint reading and interpretation: accurately interpreting construction plans and blueprints.
- Basic math skills for calculations such as measurements, material quantities, and form layout.
- Physical fitness: ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work in various weather conditions.
- Problem‑solving: adaptability and finding solutions to unexpected challenges on the job site.
- Teamwork: collaboration and clear communication with other workers.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of concrete construction experience.
- Must provide and possess required tools (a list will be provided).
- Valid driver's license or dependable transportation.
- Willingness to travel.
