Position Summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a full‑time Concrete Laborer to travel and perform concrete repair and maintenance operations in the Adkins, Texas area during the day shift (and occasionally night shift). The position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway concrete repair/maintenance and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies and procedures.

Required Experience

• Concrete forming, finishing, and repair experience required – Minimum 2 years of related experience.
• Exposure to using shovels, weed trimming machinery, brooms, and various small hand tools.
• Wheel loader, skidsteer, etc. operator.

Preferred Experience

• Roadway maintenance experience.
• Air compressor operations familiarity.
• Guardrail and sign installation experience.
• MOT (traffic control certifications/courses).
• Bilingual English/Spanish read/write preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Maintain company background‑check standards (criminal record, driving record, and controlled‑substance drug testing).
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic functions.
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job.
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology.
• Ability to use a smartphone and applications.
• Ability to adjust to a changing work schedule.
• Ability to work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Clean driving record is essential.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Schedule

Must be able to work rotating day or night shift. Day shift is typically 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; night shift is typically 6:00 p.m. – 2:30 a.m. or once concrete is cured. Must be able to work in weather events such as snow, ice, and floods.

Compensation & Benefits

Day shift starting rate of $17.00 per hour with no prior highway maintenance experience. Guardrail experience starting rate of $19.50 per hour.
