Job summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking full-time Highway Concrete Technicians to travel Texas-wide for concrete repair and maintenance during the night shift.

The position is based at the Grand Prairie, TX yard and requires travel about 75% of the time, with occasional trips to Colorado. You will perform highway repair and maintenance, guardrail and drainage work, and follow all applicable regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Background checks including criminal and driving records are required.
• Clean driving record is essential.
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Travel across Texas performing concrete repair and maintenance during the night shift.
• Based out of Grand Prairie, TX; travel about 75% of the time with occasional CO trips.
• Perform highway concrete repair/maintenance, guardrail and drainage work.
• Adhere to all federal, state and local regulations and company policies.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Position summary:

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Highway Concrete Technicians to travel and perform concrete repair and maintenance operations in the Texas area during the night shift. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to driving across the state of Texas, highway concrete repair/maintenance, guardrail, and drainage and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures. Highway. Concrete Technicians will be based out of the Grand Prairie, TX yard and require the ability to travel at least 75% of the time within the US, mostly within TX but quarterly to CO.

Required Experience

• Concrete forming/repair experience required - Minimum 3 years of related experience
• Roadway maintenance experience
• Exposure to using shovels, weed trimming machinery, brooms, & various small hand tools
• MOT (Traffic control certifications/courses)
• Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, Fork Lift, Asphalt Roller, etc operator

Preferred Experience

• Roadway maintenance experience
• Air compressor operations familiarity
• Guardrail and Sign installation experience
• Bilingual: English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required

Clean driving record is essential

Must pass criminal background check

Qualifications

• Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use smart phone and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to operate hand/power tools

Schedule

Full time; Must be able to travel 75% of the time with 1 week notice. Must be able to work rotating day or night shift, including weekends. Day shift is typically 7am - 3:30pm. Night shift is typically 6pm - 2:30am or once concrete is cured, Must be able to work weather events such as snow, ice, and floods.
