Job summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking a full-time Highway Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance operations in the Austin, TX area (IH35). Responsibilities include debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, concrete repair, and adherence to all regulations and company policies.

A high school diploma is required and prior roadway maintenance experience is preferred. The position offers a competitive base pay of $18.50 per hour, with potential higher compensation depending on experience

Qualifications

• Experience in guardrail installation and repair.
• Roadway or tollway maintenance experience.
• Concrete form work, concrete placement, and repairs.
• Operator of Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, ForkLift, Asphalt Roller, etc.
• MOT Certifications (traffic control).
• Clean driving record is essential.
• Must pass criminal background check.
• CDL A License a plus.
• 0-2 years of construction labor experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance operations in Austin, Texas area, on IH35.
• Carry out tasks related to highway maintenance, debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, concrete repair.

Position Summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform maintenance operations in Austin, Texas area, specifically on IH35. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, concrete repair, etc. as well as adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in guardrail installation and repair
• Roadway or tollway maintenance experience
• Concrete form work, concrete placement, and repairs
• Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, ForkLift, Asphalt Roller, etc operator
• MOT Certifications (traffic control)
• Clean driving record is essential
• Must pass criminal background check
• CDL A License a plus
• 0-2 years of construction labor experience (commercial, industrial, residential, roadway, heavy civil, warehouse, etc.)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use smart phone and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly while twisting; other strenuous manual labor may be required
• Ability to operate hand/power tools

Schedule

Full time; 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday

Salary

$18.50/hr, Higher compensation maybe available depending on candidate experience and certifications.
