Job Summary

Conduct specific laboratory quality control tests of concrete and construction materials. The services provided within the Division are performed to the standards of industry including ASTM, AASHTO, and ACI as well as state laws governing professional services. All services will be performed in accordance with AET's QA/QC procedures. The Level I Technician will have an instrumental position in developing the efficiency of the department, including training and service orientation.

Essential Functions

• Work independently performing testing services in areas such as laboratory testing, recording data, conducting test measurements, and assisting in evaluations of construction materials.
• Communicate with and report data to project managers.
• Complete projects independently or as part of a team, with review by project managers or engineers.
• Identify problems or issues and escalate as needed.
• Participate in ongoing education to stay current with technology.

Other Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain equipment and documentation.
• Coordinate with staff to improve efficiency and communication.
• Perform additional tasks to meet departmental goals.

Qualifications and Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two-year technical degree or 1+ year related experience preferred; or 6+ months as an AET Trainee technician.
• Completion of technical surveillance in certain areas.

• Knowledge of concrete test standards.
• Understanding of quality and safety standards.
• Basic computer skills.
• Effective communication and time management skills.
• Physical ability to perform required labor, including lifting and carrying weights as specified.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly range of $22.00 - $25.00, with comprehensive benefits including health, retirement, ESOP, paid time off, and professional development. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Primarily office environment, with field work in outdoor conditions. Must meet physical requirements including lifting weights and working outside in various weather conditions.
