Position Details

Title: Service Technician, Post-Press

Location: 100% Remote with nearly 100% domestic business travel and occasional international travel

Reports to: Service Manager

Direct Reports: None

Schedule: Monday - Friday, hours vary; must be available to work weekends as needed.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Compensation: $27 - $46 per hour

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the sales team with technical information, including customer meetings, application reviews, configuration recommendations, and supporting equipment order submissions.
  • Assist in training and development of the field service technician group, including sharing technical information, guiding repair and installation procedures, and providing phone support.
  • Coordinate installation processes, including scheduling, managing budgets, purchase orders, follow-ups, and communicating progress to customers.
  • Apply technical knowledge to train customers on operation and maintenance of Koenig & Bauer Duran equipment, including safety training.
  • Develop and conduct courses, workshops, and presentations to train sales staff on equipment configuration and operation.
  • Diagnose, resolve, and repair equipment issues during commissioning and instruct customers on troubleshooting.
  • Act as the main liaison between the customer and Koenig & Bauer on-site.
  • Support customers remotely or on-site to resolve operational or service issues.
  • Maintain professionalism and approach all customer interactions with a customer-first attitude.
  • Complete necessary documentation promptly, especially for invoicing.
  • Promote a safe working environment through training, PPE use, and safe work practices.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as needed, with flexibility for additional hours.
  • Work with autonomy, making decisions to address customer concerns on-site.
  • Explain technical information clearly to individuals with varying technical knowledge.
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training plus 10-15 years of experience in relevant technology and folding/gluing operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of current folder/gluer technology.
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical components of folder/gluers.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining Duran folder/gluer equipment.
  • Ability to interpret machine specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and manuals.
