Job summary

Oldcastle APG in White Marsh, MD, is seeking a highly motivated individual to conduct R&D and quality control tasks in the Oldcastle Concrete and Mortar Laboratory. The role involves analysis of material properties and costs, with lifting, mixing and stacking concrete bags required.

The individual will report to the Regional Quality Manager. The position includes routine measurements on materials, creation of summary reports with tables/graphs, and instrument maintenance.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a laboratory setting or concrete/masonry field work.
• Experience with concrete/mortar testing and ASTM standards is a plus; training provided.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 85 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist in comparing formula variations and making physical measurements to meet product targets.
• Support manufacturing plant managers in measurements, conclusions, and corrective actions for forensic investigations regarding SONA products.
• Perform routine laboratory measurements on raw materials, concrete, and mortar samples.
• Create summary reports discussing results of tests, including the use of tables and graphs.
• Maintain the instruments required by the Concrete and Mortar Laboratories.
• Maintain warehouse.
• Mix, pour and lift bags and buckets of concrete as needed.
