CONCRETE FORM SETTER/CARPENTER
$20-$28 DOE

About your role: This is a hands-on, full-time position with day-to-day duties that include many tasks that require physical labor on construction sites in all types of weather. The Form Setter / Carpenter will assist other craft workers when required as well. This position will learn their trade through on-the-job training.

Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:

Essential functions may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. 1. Assist in building and positioning forms for pouring concrete and dismantling after use.
2. Dig ditches and levels earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, and rakes.
3. Grade dirt and concrete efficiently and accurately.
4. Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, and other temporary structures.
5. Mix concrete and mortar.
6. Assist to maintain jobsite, trucks, and equipment are always clean and eliminate possible hazards.
7. Assist to align, straighten, plumb, and square forms for installation.
8. Construct forms, then assist in raising them to the required elevation.
9. Install handrails and tie rebar and/or wire mesh.
10. Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials.
11. Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
12. Report any unsafe work practices, mechanical problems, or safety hazards immediately to a supervisor.
13. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
14. Grind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces, such as concrete surfaces for cleaning or finishing, using abrasive tools or machines.
15. Cut lumber to specified dimensions, and drill holes in lumber.
16. Hold plumb bobs, sighting rods, and other equipment, to aid in establishing reference points and lines.
17. Assist with other duties as assigned.

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Type of Experience Needed to be Successful:

• 6 months – 2 years of experience in similar position or industry.
