Job summary

Adolfson & Peterson Construction is seeking a Cement Mason to pour, finish and repair concrete, operate screed and trowel, and ensure quality finishes across projects. You will set forms, level surfaces, and work within an Incident and Injury Free culture, contributing to safety and efficiency on site.

The role requires reading blueprints, six core safety commitments, the ability to lift heavy loads, travel to sites up to 70 miles, and willingness to work in varied climates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent training.
• ACI certifications – have or obtain within 1 year and maintain.
• Ability to climb, kneel, crouch, stand, bend, shovel, push, and rake constantly.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 80 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to travel to project sites up to 70+ miles away.
• Willingness to work in various climate conditions.
• Read blueprints and plan specifications accurately.
• Resolve construction issues proactively.
• Knowledge of masonry equipment and their uses.
• Understand and apply basic mathematical skills.
• Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
• Self-motivated, goal-driven, and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Take personal responsibility for working safely within an Incident and Injury Free culture.
• Support IIF efforts for a culture of care and concern for each team member.
• Communicate and reinforce the tenets of an IIF workplace.
• Ensure adherence to processes and procedures supporting IIF culture.
• Comply with all safety requirements and policies.
• Spread and level concrete to specified depths using hand tools and power equipment.
• Prep work to prepare substrate for form setting (chipping, blasting, bushing, grinding).
• Level, smooth, shape and finish concrete to required finishes per specs.
• Complete tasks for concrete curing operations.
• Remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces.
• Patch holes and mold expansion joints and edges.
• Set and remove formwork per allowance.
• Maintain tools and work area daily.
• Inspect work-in-progress against specs, schedules and quality standards.
