Job summary

Walbec Group is seeking a Cement Mason/Concrete Finisher to safely assist in placing and finishing concrete on commercial and industrial sites in the Midwest. Under the foreman’s direction, you’ll contribute to the placement and finishing of concrete, preparing surfaces, forms and beams while ensuring safety and quality.

The role requires dependability, ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and flexibility for varied hours, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior construction experience preferred.
• Must be punctual and dependable.
• Able to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed.
• Be able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in dirty and dusty environments, and crawl in close quarters to strip concrete forms.
• Member of a Local Cement Masons Union, or willingness to become a union member are required.

Responsibilities

• Smooth out concrete in segments to ensure the concrete poured is level.
• Fill roadways, driveways, sidewalks, bridges, and parking lots.
• Arrange the concrete forms and prepare surface.
• Level surfaces by using blades, smoothing lumps and bubbles.
• Use forms to shape the concrete and hold it until set.
• Finish corners by hand and use equipment to remove air pockets.
